Allergy and contact dermatitis focus on the identification, management, and prevention of immune-mediated skin reactions caused by allergens, irritants, or environmental exposures. Participants will learn about patch testing, clinical assessment, and laboratory investigations for accurate diagnosis. Common conditions include atopic dermatitis, occupational dermatitis, urticaria, and hypersensitivity reactions. Treatment strategies involve avoidance of triggers, topical and systemic therapies, and patient counseling on preventive measures. Emerging research on immunologic mechanisms and novel therapies is discussed, highlighting advancements in targeted treatment approaches. Emphasis is placed on patient education, long-term management, and improving quality of life for individuals affected by allergic and irritant skin conditions. By the end of this topic, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic techniques, treatment options, and preventive strategies for allergy-related dermatologic disorders.
