Global Dermatology and Public Health

Global dermatology and public health examine skin health from an epidemiological and population-based perspective. This topic addresses the prevalence of dermatologic diseases worldwide, access to care, disparities in treatment, and strategies for prevention and awareness. Participants will explore infectious skin diseases, neglected tropical dermatoses, environmental skin hazards, and emerging global trends such as the impact of climate change on skin health. Public health interventions, vaccination programs, community outreach, and health education campaigns are discussed as key tools for reducing disease burden. The topic also highlights collaborative efforts between governments, non-profit organizations, and international dermatology societies to promote skin health globally. By the end of this discussion, attendees will understand the importance of integrating dermatology into public health frameworks and developing strategies to improve skin care access and outcomes worldwide.
